Lisaks, mida masinale peale kruvitakse:
- Design based on Japanese aesthetics
- Three distinct body styles – sedan, hatchback, estate – all longer, taller, wider with a longer wheelbase
- Aerodynamics improved with coefficient of drag (Cd) of only 0.27 (sedan and hatchback) and 0.28 (estate) some of the best in segment
- Minimal gaps between body panels for a look of solid quality
- Sedan and hatchback are longer (4,735 mm + 65 mm), wider (1,795 mm + 15 mm), taller (1,440 mm + 5 mm) with a longer wheelbase (2,725 mm + 50 mm)
- Estate is longer (4,765 mm + 75 mm), wider (1,795 mm + 15 mm) and only slightly taller (1,490 mm + 10 mm) with a longer wheelbase (2,725 mm + 50 mm)
- Front bumper with new headlamp design, large lower intake and vertical-type fog lamps
- Rear lamps with LED standard in Europe
Interior
- Highest levels of quality craftsmanship
- Floor console with sliding leather armrest
- More rear legroom (+ 20 mm) and shoulder room (+ 9 mm) for even more comfort
- New boot/tailgate design with largest opening (1,066 mm for estate) in segment for easy loading
- Rearward visibility improved by optimised door mirror shapes and new rear head restraints
- Reduced steering wheel angle for more comfortable steering
- Gear shift lever placed closer to driver for easier shifting
- New Action Illumination light system with fade in/out for audio commands
- Karakuri rear seat-fold system now with automatic Karakuri tonneau cover (estate)
Powertrains
- New MZR 2.5-litre petrol engine replaces 2.3-litre petrol of previous model
- Maximum power of 125 kW/170 PS (+ 4 PS) at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 226 Nm at 4,000 rpm (+ 19 Nm)
- Lightweight pistons and fully floating piston pins, high-rigidity block, increased crankshaft rigidity, dual-mass damper and a flexible flywheel for smooth, quiet power delivery
- SV-T for optimised engine efficiency and VIS for maximum torque at all engine speeds
- Exhaust resistance reduced in the exhaust manifold for optimal engine operation and reduced engine noise at low speeds
- MZR 2.5-litre uses 0.6 litres less per 100 km than the previous 2.3-litre (sedan)
- Two carry-over petrols and one diesel, all using less fuel than before
- MZR-CD 2.0-litre turbo diesel with DPF produces 103 kW/140 PS at 3,500 rpm and 330 Nm of maximum torque at just 2,000 rpm, and uses 0.4 litres less
- MZR 2.0-litre petrol produces 108 kW/147 PS at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque of 184 Nm at 4,000 rpm, and uses 0.8 litres less
- MZR 1.8-litre petrol produces 88 Kw/120 PS at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 165 Nm at 4,300 rpm, and uses 0.9 litres less
- Five-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift mode for 2.0-litre petrol
Chassis & Safety
- Despite larger dimensions and more equipment, new Mazda6 weights up to 35 kg less
- 7 percent increase in use of high and ultra-high strength steels vs. outgoing model
- Double-digit increases in flexural and torsional rigidity for all body styles for improved handling and safety
- High-mount double wishbone front suspension
- E-type multilink rear suspension
- Rack drive Electric Power Assist Steering introduced for firmer steering feel and reduced fuel consumption
- Improved active safety with larger front disc brakes (now 299 mm + 16 mm)
- ABS, EBD, brake assist, traction control system (TCS) and DSC standard for all models
- High-intensity Bi-xenon headlamps, Adaptative Front Lighting System, tyre pressure monitoring system and parking sensor system (optional)
- New active front head restraints that lower the chance of neck injury during rear impact (standard in Europe)
- New collapsing clutch and brake pedals for improved lower leg injury prevention
- Front passenger, side and curtain airbags standard for all models
- A further improvement of pedestrian protection including energy-absorbing space between the bonnet and the engine
- Special foam in the bumper beam and plastic reinforcements at the bottom of the front bumper to help lower the chance of leg injuries
